Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when printing
We have been using SQL 2005 reporting services for a while but recently when
some one tries to print a report they will get a BSOD and the machine reboots.
Any Ideas'?We are also having the same problem when printing, blue screen with error
message 0X80070709.

It sounds kind of like a printer driver issue. Does this occur when
exporting to any SSRS supported format (Excel, PDF, CSV, Web Archive,
etc) and then printing?
Enrique Martinez
Sr. Software Consultant|||No, It does not happen when you export the report.
But, We have been able to narrow it down to PCL6 print drivers.

Class that is causing the problem. It seems to be happening after a recent
Windows Update, but I have not attributed it to any particular one. Go to
C:\windows\downloaded program files and delete the RSClientPrint Class and
run your report again. It should prompt you to download the control again
and printing should resume after that.
Wish I could flag this so MS could figure out why it is happening. It has
happened to two of my users and I am sure there will be more to follow.

problem started after a recent Windows Update. I tried my solution on one

realeased. I understand a hot patch may be available as early as Monday.
As a pre-caution read why this security update was published before
removing. Might be more of a risk to remove that to have the end users export
to pdf then print which has been my work around.

As a pre-caution read why this security update was published before
removing. Might be more of a risk to remove that to have the end users export

Blue Screen
Hello, I'm trying to restore a large database (350gb) to a sql server over the network. However after running for about 10 hours or so the target sql server crushes with a blue screen. Has anybody encountered similar problem or do you have an idea as to why this may happen. Thanks a lot for any help.Hello Wolv,
What sort of network are you running? If you are working on a gigabyte LAN/SAN, then you should have no problem depending on whether your SQL server hardware is up to scratch.
You are trying to move a big DB, therefore if you don't have the hardware to support that move then you may want to consider an alternative for moving the data.
Hope this helps, at least in understanding why...|||well, what kind of network would be helpful, but If you are restoring it, I would think that you've had it in the same place before, just something happened, and that's why you are restoring it...correct?

blue return arrow icon on Replication monitor - significance?
Good morning,
This morning I opened up enterprise manager (sql Server 2000) and noticed a
blue return arrow looking icon on the Replication Monitor folder. When I
opened up Replication monitor I observed the same blue return arrow looking
icon on the publishers and agents folders. What is the significance of this
icon? How do I remove it?
When I get a red X icon I just restart the distribution agent and refresh
everythihg and the red x goes away. What do I need to do for this blue arrow
icon?
Thanks,
Rich
Rich,
do you mean the retrying icon? What is the message of the agent's history?
(I get this message when experiencing connectivity problems).
Cheers,
Paul Ibison SQL Server MVP, www.replicationanswers.com .
|||Hi Paul,
Thank you for getting back to me on this. In the Agent History, the Last
action (11/28/06) says No Replicated Transactions are available. Is there a
site anywhere that explains what the various alert icons signify? This way I
can use the standardized lingo to describe what I am seeing.
It is still a little bit early over my way, and customers haven't been
calling about any problems (yet). Do I need to do anything or will this
resolve itself? We have, been having some connectivity problems in recent
times. But usually, I get a big red x when that happens. I restart the
Distribution Agent and it goes away.

fact go away. At least it wasn't a big red x.

Blue line around chart
I have created a report with a 3D chart that drills down to another report.
Although I have the borders set to none and placed the chart on a rectangle,
I am still getting a blue line around the chart. How can this be removed?I have had success with making the chart just barely smaller than the
rectangle - it can't touch the sides of the rectangle.

try your solution.
