Books Online Updated

Hi,
While installing the SQL Server 2000 Eval, I skipped Books Online since I
had previously downloaded the Books Online (Updated). I then installed the
updated version of Books Online. Now, when I try to access help from any of
the SQL Server tools like Query Analyzer, etc, nothing happens and no help
window comes up. I'd appreciate information on how to connect the SQL Server
installation to the updated Books Online.

YogiFirst simply try re-installing the updated books on line..
If that doesn't work, go back to the SQL install, and do a custom install
and simply select ONLY install books.

BOL Error

I have upgraded My books online to Updated - SP3 version
and now am getting:
A run time Error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug ?
Line 0
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.
error when I click on the links of a help topic.
Does anyone get the samething ? Is there a solution to it
other than uninstalling and reinstalling again (I already
did that several times)?
Thanks.Books online are all in html format. What version of
Internet Explorer are you using? You might want to upgrade
your IE to the latest SP as well. HTH.

help files on Windows, sometimes i'd get a similiar error
trying to open
a help file that was in a directory other than the default
expected.

Block row from been updated

I need to block some rows from being updated using mssql 2000.
this is because some users are changing data after the product has been
factured.
The VB program does not let any body to change the data but some advanced
users have done it directly to the database.
If some one can help me I will be very thankful

would be to put a trigger on the table that checks to see if one of the
"non-alterable" records is being updated and roll back the transaction. You
might also want to log who is updating the row for future personnel related
actions.

I used this:
IF EXISTS(SELECT * FROM inserted WHERE facturado_Cliente = 1)
Begin
ROLLBACK TRAN
End
and i had a problem wit it. After the facturado_Cliente where changed to 0
again, it did not let me change the row any more. I mean, I couldn't make it
1 again, it allways rolled back.
So I will try what you suggest me, because it sound perfect. Is it posible
to do so, but with the HostName?

and all someone would have to do in order to defeat your filter is
move to another machine , or
change their machine name
It would probably work out better to put in a filter condition based on
APP_NAME() . Does your application show a ProgramName value when you run
sp_who2 ? If it does, filter the updates based on the ProgramName.

Bit more specific, Can one pass an NVARCHAR to IF UPDATED()?

Question is pretty much in the thread title.

I'm still plunking away on a history trigger that requires the evaluation of whether or not each column has been updated. If it has,t hen I'll be tossing a record into a history table.

Basically I need something to function along the same logic as this:

IF UPDATED(@.s)
BEGIN
--some code
END

Any thoughts you folks may have are greatly appreciated.About the closest I can get is the Columns_Updated() and maybe some fancy dancing with syscolumns.
