Body type not supported by Remote Host issue

I have recently setup a 2003 server with ISA firewall and an inbound SMTP re
lay to provide message filtering etc and SMTP command
scanning (such as it may be). This server relays to my internal SMTP server
which is an Exchange 5.5. Prior to this my Exchange
server received the email directly from the sending server with even less pr
otection by the ISA server. Since putting the 6.0
SMTP server in, I have been receiving (as admin) NDRs on in bound messages w
ith the error 'Body type not supported by Remote
Host'.
1) - I am not sure that these message really can't be handled by my 5.5. ser
ver. The reason I question this is that the NDR has
the original message as an attachment and I can open many of them in Outlook
that accesses the 5.5 server) and read them just
fine. Some of them are gibberish.
2) - I would really like the messages to continue on to the Exchange server
and let the chips fall as they may as they did before
I put the inbound relay was put in place.
3) - If I must have the NDR on the inbound messages, I would like to prevent
NDRs from being returned to the sender of these
messages. In fact, I think I could live without any NDRs returned to sender
from this relay. I have a 3 rd party spam filtering
service that discards messages to my domain for addresses without mailboxes
and my Exchange server should really provide what ever
other type of NDR that is required.
I saw an article about disabling 8bitmime advertising for Windows 2000 SMTP,
but I am not sure that it applies because
1) - I really expect the procedure is different.
2) - The rejected messages don't indicate an 8bitmime type
3) - MS did not provide an equivalent article for Server 2003
Any information about the error message Body type not supported by Remote Ho

Blocking

Is there a way to setup SQL server to automatically kill a
blocking process after a certain time frame (after maybe 5
Minutes for example)?
We are running SQL Server 2000 service pack 3a.
I second this question! Anyone have an easy solution for this?

|||There is no way to do this automatically in SQL Server 2000. You can set up
a job that inspects sysprocesses periodically, looking at who is blocked,
and the wait_time, and then see who has blocked them. But you'll want to see
if the blocker is also being blocked, before indiscriminately issuing KILLs.
In fact, anything 'automatic' might have a problem with killing the 'wrong'
process.
SQL 2005 allows you to configure a 'blocked process threshold', to generate
an event when someone is blocked longer than the amount of time you
configure. So it will save you the periodic scanning of sysprocesses, but
you'll still have to apply some logic to figure out who you want to KILL (if
anyone) when a process does exceed that threshold.

BLOB Merge Replication

Hi,

I have setup a Merge Replication between a SQL Server 2005 and a SQL Server Mobile using native C++ code in Windows CE 5. Replication of normal data types (nvarchar, ints etc) works great, but when I try to replicate a blob about 1.5 MB the performance is awful. The download phase seems to be quick while the applytime (printed in debugger) when the database on my CE device is updated is about 3 minutes for 1.5MB binary data which is unacceptable since the database gets locked up during the applytime. The BLOB column is defined as image data type which shall hold up to 1GB data. I have tried to disable compression during replication, but it doesnt matter. Does anyone have some experience of using merge replication with blobs in SQL Server Mobile?

My Idea was to use merge replication as a way to transfer CAB-files for installation on the Windows CE 5 device by storing them as BLOB:s, but the bad performance may make it impossible.

Ideas? Anyone?

About the only thing you can do is to factor out the BLOB itself into a related table. For example, let's say right now you have a table called "Orders" which has 10 columns, one of which is a customer signature (image column in SQL Mobile). Every time any column in the orders table is updated, the whole row is replicated, including the image. It would be more efficient to have an Orders table and a separate OrderSignatures table, related by a foreign key.

I must say that I'm dissapointed in the performance. I mean 1.5 MB binary data is not alot in these days and it is almost impossible to handle for SQL Server Mobile in a merge replication. Can I expect the same bad performance when I replicate alot of rows (lets say 3000) with more ordinary data (say a few columns with ints and varchar(50)) or is this performance problem only related to dealing with BLOBs?

from the server to the CE5 device. I also frequently have this requirement when a mobile app must be automatically updating. There are some

Blank Listbox output from SPROC

I have setup an Access Project using SQL Server. Our Tech rep Restored my Backup copy to a server and gave some of the users dbo permissions. When they Open a certain form with a listbox that has as the Rowsource a SPROC, no data is returned (other Forms with listboxes do work). When our Tech rep opens the same form, the listbox appears with the correct data. He thinks it's my Access project that is the problem and I on the other hand think it has something to do with the SQL Server setup side of things. Blank IE screen

Hi everybody,
I have a problem with our new setup of RS 2005.
I can access de report manager an show reports fine.
I have the Bruce-workaround t.i. a "dummy"-report that refreshes itself
every few minutes to keep connections alive.
Still somtimes when I open up a report I get a blank IE window and have to
wait a full minute for "report is being generated" to appear. Although I ran
a report e few minutes earlier (certainly les than 20 minutes AND my dummy
report is running).
I ran a trace, but I can't really see the problem, could anybody please help.
I added the trace here below starting from the point I reqeusted the report
to the time that the "report is being generated" appeared. I can't add the

Bizarre behavior rendering Web Archive format

I have a report that displays summary information, I've setup a subscription
on the report that attaches a web archive copy of the report to the
distribution list. When the report is rendered for the attachment in the
middle of the result set for no apparent reason it randomly displays the
values in the report using a different format, like larger font, left
justification where right justification should be. I can send an example of
this for anyone would like to help but the data is sensitive so I'll not post

We have recieved your test html and rdl files. I've view the html copy, and
I only see some bold text in the summary/total rows, while the text in
other rows are of the same layout(size , font). Would you tell me the
locatio of the problem text in it? Since the datasources are specific to
your environment, I can not try running it on my local test machine. Is it
possible that you try generate a simplified report with some test data(xml
or a test database file) that can reproduce the same error behavior? if so,
I can perform a complete test on my side. You can reach me through the

reply, the problem may need more info to repro, and due to the complexity
and specific nature of the problem, I would suggest you consider contact
